Powells delivered the full interior and exterior fitout of eight eco-luxury lodges at The Reeds, South Lodge – a project that redefines sustainable, high-end accommodation. Nestled around the lake at the award-winning South Lodge Hotel in Horsham, each standalone lodge combines biophilic design with refined comfort, enhancing wellbeing while respecting the surrounding environment.

Our comprehensive works included the construction of roof substructures and the installation of hand-finished zinc coverings, bamboo cladding to the exterior façades, and external balcony structures featuring durable decking and sleek glass balustrades. Each lodge features bespoke entrance doors and micro cement-treated porch walls, contributing to the tactile, natural material palette.

We installed full-height glass windows and sliding doors to maximise natural light and connect the interior spaces to the tranquil lakeside setting. Internally, our scope covered bespoke joinery, custom furniture, and the seamless integration of smart technology – including motorised blinds, AV systems, and enhanced Wi-Fi connectivity.

Each lodge also includes spa-inspired wellness features such as halotherapy saunas, steam showers, and private outdoor copper baths – thoughtfully designed to deliver a calming, restorative guest experience.

Sustainability was a guiding principle throughout. We used upcycled, locally sourced, and natural materials such as bamboo, eco-paints, and recycled textiles. Structural enhancements supported large-format glazing and open-plan layouts, ensuring both thermal performance and architectural impact.
