Scope of Works

Powells was appointed to deliver the full interior fit-out for Reserved’s flagship retail store at Westfield London, representing the fourth successful collaboration with this international fashion retailer within a 15-month period. Previous projects for Reserved were successfully completed at Westfield Stratford, Oxford Street, and Brent Cross Shopping Centre, further cementing our role as a trusted partner for the brand’s UK expansion.

This flagship project encompassed the complete strip-out and refit of a 1,841 sqm unit delivered over a 19.5-week programme.

The scope included:

Full MEP installation including mechanical services, electrical works, and sprinkler systems
Installation of new screed, partitions, ceilings (including MF ceilings with curved profiles), and comprehensive internal decoration
Construction of a bespoke shopfront with integrated roller shutter
Fabrication and installation of a full-height Linit glass wall partition as a key design feature
Adaptation and integration around existing escalator infrastructure
Supply and precise placement of large-format porcelain floor tiles (2.4m x 1.2m)

Challenges

Material Handling Constraints: The oversized porcelain tiles exceeded the capacity of the standard goods lift. This necessitated the deployment of a hybrid solution combining forklifts, mechanised pallet trucks, and controlled manual handling to ensure safe and efficient transportation and installation.
Shopping Centre Operational Restrictions: The live retail environment imposed strict limitations on noise levels, working hours, and delivery logistics. A detailed logistics management plan was implemented, enabling out-of-hours deliveries and the adoption of low-noise construction methodologies to maintain compliance with centre regulations.
