Powells was appointed by global pharmaceuticals brand Novo Nordisk as the main contractor to deliver the fit out of their offices over the top three floors of this new office building in Gatwick, West Sussex. Novo Nordisk’s vision along with the interior designers was to create a modern office environment befitting the healthy lifestyle ethos of the company. With the ground floor office space already occupied by another company and with staff taking occupancy only 10 weeks after commencement of the fit out, the challenge was to deliver the clients vision in the time frame whilst adhering to the restrictions in place on the site.
This fit out, over 38,000 sq.ft (3,500 m²), included an open plan office space throughout with glass screened managers offices, meeting rooms, conference rooms, print rooms, a reception area and relaxation areas, as well as a café, restaurant, gymnasium, toilets and shower facilities.
The project included the formation of a variety of wall partitioning systems, some of which were sound insulated studwork and others double glazed office partitions; the fitting of stone and carpeted flooring, the installation of both suspended and MF ceilings and also many bespoke joinery items; alongside services installations such as electrical, plumbing and air conditioning installations and decorations throughout.
