Hilton Hotel at the Ageas Bowl
In our biggest project to date, at the home of Hampshire Cricket’s The Ageas Bowl, saw us deliver the complete construction and fit out of an inherited shell for the Hilton Hotel which wraps the north eastern side of the now iconic cricket ground.
The magnitude of this project required us to pull on huge resources and expertise across several disciplines including a full interior fit out, exterior works, retaining walls and external staircases, plus creating car parking and providing the external landscaping of the well-known grounds. A brand new media centre for Sky TV was completed on the first phase of the project to fit the needs of modern broadcasting with the ability to cater for broadcasting across multiple platforms. Following this we fitted 176 bedrooms on three floors, Beefy’s Restaurant & Bar (inspired by cricket legend Sir Ian Botham) and Eforea Spa complete with its own café. To complete the build we installed and fitted the new gymnasium, sports bar and executive club, alongside conference and meeting rooms, reception areas plus the largest ballroom in the area.
Nick Rayner, Associate Director at EPR Architects said about the project: “The holistic and cohesive design of the cricket ground brings a luxury hotel with high-quality business, leisure and hospitality facilities to this world-class sporting destination.”
