Powells Branches Out at EuroShop 2020
19 February 2020
EuroShop 2020 kicked off this week in Dusseldorf, Germany and provided the perfect opportunity for Powells to catch up with some old friends, as well as branch out and make some new ones.
Held every three years the trade fair, which is the world’s no.1 in the retail industry, runs from the 16th to the 20th of February. The event brings together 2,300 exhibitors from over 60 countries with 114,000 plus visitors expected from across the world. The 2020 edition of the fair introduces a new concept, with dedicated areas for disciplines such as Shop Fitting & Store Design, Lighting, Visual Merchandising, Food Tech & Energy Management and Retail Technology.
It was also an opportunity to catch up on the latest advancements in the industry. EuroShop 2020 features a comprehensive programme offering lectures, talks and presentations. Topics include developments and challenges in the industry, technical innovations and their implementation and also customer behaviour.
Not to be ones to miss out on such an opportunity, Powells sent across Business Development Director Roger Munnery and Contracts Director Mark Higgins for a three day whistle-stop tour. As well as networking at the event, with the aim of meeting people in sectors we may not have worked in before, it was also a chance to meet up with some of our existing clients. Catching up with friends in the industry over a few steines produced some encouraging conversations around branching out to work more in mainland Europe and diversifying our skills across different sectors.
Roger Munnery said: “It’s been an important event for us to attend and EuroShop 2020 most certainly delivered on its hype. The connections made over the last few days have made the journey invaluable and the insights we’ve gathered along the way ensures Powells is constantly at the cutting edge of shopfitting.”
